Halloween time in Disney World brings Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party to Magic Kingdom.

This event happens from 7pm - midnight on select nights starting early August and ending on Halloween night. You can even come into the park starting at 4pm and you don't need a Magic Kingdom Park ticket. This means you can get 8 hours of park time for just the price of the Halloween Party ticket which range from $119 - $199 depending on the night you choose.

Things to See

Rides

There are few rides with Halloween overlays for the Halloween Party.

  1. Mad Tea Party - Has special lighting and music

  2. Space Mountain - Pitch black darkness and special holiday music

  3. Monsters Inc - More Halloween based jokes

Most of the other rides in Magic Kingdom will be open during the night but those 3 are the only ones with special Halloween effects.

Ride Lines will be shorter during the Halloween Party because there a many other things to experience. So, if you are a ride person, get in line during party time. Also Tiana's Bayou Adventure and Tron will have stand-by queues during the event. Which means it will be much easier to ride them.

I am personally a rides person so I would prioritize all rides first, but if you like special characters, food or shows more, I would prioritize the rides with an overlay plus Tiana's and Tron.

Special Characters

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is full of special guest appearances, especially from villains. It even includes a special sighting of Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas, which usually gets a big line.

You can see Maleficent, The Evil Queen, Oogie Boogie, the witches from Hocus Pocus, Disney Junior Characters, The Winnie the Pooh characters in costume, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto in costume and even ghosts from The Haunted Mansion.

Character lines will be very long since they are unique. If you are interested in seeing any character that is not normally out during a regular Magic Kingdom park day, I would suggest missing the first parade and getting in line for a character during that time.

Food

The party has special food offerings every year. If you really like trying new spooky food items, go find some at the different food spots around Magic Kingdom.

Some special food items you can find are:

  1. The Tombstone Tart - Sugar dough filled with cookies, cream cheese mousse and other Halloween treats.

  2. Bowl of Bones - Piggy Wings with bones fried and tossed in Coca-Cola Cherry Barbecue Sauce with Jalapenos on the side

  3. Terrifyin' Twice Spiced Chicken Sandwich - Spicy fried chicken breast covered in hot honey, topped with pepper jack cheese, jalapeno poppers and bacon.

There are also other options, like ice cream themed to the evil step sisters.

Many quick service options will also be open and 3 table service restaurants.

  1. Be Our Guest

  2. Cinderella's Royal Table

  3. The Plaza Restaurant

If you want to make the most of your time in the park during the party, I would suggest eating a quick service meal and not sitting down at a table service.

Shows and Entertainment

There is also special entertainment throughout the night, including stage shows, dance parties and parades.

Some offerings are:

  1. Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade

  2. Mickey's Not-so-Spooky Spectacular - Night-Time Fireworks show

  3. Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular - Stage Show staring the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus.

  4. Moonlight Melodies - Dance part with characters

The entertainment offerings are great and I suggest seeing everything you can during the 5 hours you are in the park while they are offered.

Halloween Extras

There are some extra offering that fall into the above categories. You can buy special merch from the shops around Magic Kingdom and there are special spots through the park where you can get Halloween candy! You can also dress up during the Halloween party, this includes adults who usually cannot dress up, which is exciting for us that love to dress up.

When you walk into the event you are giving a bag, and throughout the park you find specially marked paths that they give out Halloween snacks. You can even get allergy free candy by visiting guests relations in the park.

Halloween Treat Trails can be found:

  1. Market Street Welcome Trick-or-Treating

  2. Tortuga Tavern

  3. Tom Sawyer Island Dock

  4. Gaston’s Tavern

  5. Near TRON Lightcycle / Run

  6. Princess Fairytale Hall

  7. Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor
